We are continually experimenting with innovative ideas to address all aspects of what it takes to make a great snare drum and drum set.  Through nearly two years of research, we’ve created an isolation mounting system for use with toms that not only works well, but is aesthetically pleasing.

We set out with three objectives: Achieve maximum tone and resonance, be able to change drum heads “on-the-fly”, and make the suspension system strong, yet attractive. Many suspension systems on the market achieve the first objective, and some the second. The Artisan Isolation Mount has accomplished all three.

The mount itself is handcrafted out of solid hardwood, the same wood that is used to make your drums. The horizontal portion of the AIM system is connected to the bottom side of two lugs of the tom tom and follows the radius of the shell.  A vertical arm runs the length of the drum and sits cushioned against the shell by a rubber bump stop placed at the nodal point.  This provides essential lateral support for the shell.  In addition, the drum feels solid as it is played, without unwanted movement.

AIM is the ultimate system for drum suspension because it is unobtrusive (blending and contouring with the drum), very solid feeling, and drum heads can be changed without removing the drum from the stand or rack. AIM comes standard with 10mm L-rod type mounting brackets.  We are proud to offer AIM exclusively on our Prestige and Custom Select series drum sets.  Patent pending.

Artisan Polish (TM) and Mirror Gloss (TM)

Our latest finishing developments, Artisan Polish and Mirror Gloss finishes represent some of the very best of what we do.

Artisan Polish is a medium luster finish that features a smooth, silky, hand polished appearance.  Warm, natural, and very durable.  Increased protection over Oil and Wax and Satin Lacquer.

Mirror Gloss is the ultimate in deep, wet glossy appearance.  This Urethane finish offers increased protection and depth over traditional lacquer. Mirror Gloss is a maintenance free,  “super gloss ” finish that will retain your drum’s beauty for a lifetime.

EdgeCraft™ is an integral reinforcement ring (I.R.R.) that is machined during the lathing operation.  It is not a glue-in type, but rather an integral part of the shell. Placing the I.R.R. at each edge of the shell allows us to produce thinner shells and still retain strength, specifically tailored according to the diameter of each shell. Thin shells are known to offer a higher degree of resonance and a lower fundamental pitch. They also allow more of the shell to be heard and less of the drum head.  EdgeCraft is standard on our Prestige series, Custom select series, and stave snare drums.
