Question: A Good Type Of Wood For Heavy Metal Drumming?
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of wood type for a heavy metal drum set. I am looking for something a little bit unique, with a caverneous bass, and sharpness with a snare, able to make nice heavy sounding rim-shots…
Any idea?
PS: I would like it to be an Artisan kit

Thanks for your interest in our drums. Wenge would be a great choice for what you are after. It has a very metallic, clean articulate sound coupled with the warmth that wood offers. In this regard it is very unique. It is also very dark in color- almost black with very bold figure. Bass drums from this species ARE indeed cavernous and provide clear, clean attack.
